
Permaculture and Regenerative Agriculture Community Food Security
Permaculture and regenerative Agriculture Community Food Security project is an emanation from Permaculture for Sustainable Communities Africa that aim to develop a viable, community & school connected care farms, to grow local foods and produce local food for students, communities, teachers, birds, animals, bees use and for community benefit. This is regenerative school and community gardens will sequester carbon from the atmosphere while building ecological resilience, food security, and strong school community and creating abundant local ecosystems.
The characteristic of this project is focused on student & community farmers-centered, experiential learning framework that easily transferable to other areas in Kenya, and serve as an important model for integrating education and Permaculture &Regenerative Agriculture in communities & in schools. Its uquiness is to maintain activities which will use lesser resources but provide a higher quality of food production in schools and in the communities. Same time the project character is focused to support farmers & students to put back in the soil and benefit our food, water and help reverse global warming. The project characters efforts are to improve access to healthy foods, strategies to build sustainable agricultural systems, development of green-focused career opportunities, and quality of life in socially and economically-challenged areas of Matungu District and Busia Districts in Kenya.
